Here we have a Simple Naked Cake with fresh flowers, Cake Pops, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, and not Pictured we have Cookies as well. I love Pastel Dessert Tables. I am a Pastel Lover. lol

For the Naked Cake I use The Amazing Cake by Courtney Yellow Cake Recipe but instead of Sour cream, I use Buttermilk.

But lets be honest I don’t usually have buttermilk so I get Milk and add 1 TBS of Vinegar and Bam I have Buttermilk. Also with Cake Flour…I never have cake flour so I use All Purpose Flour and in every cup I replace 2TBS of Flour with 2TBS of Cornstarch.

When it comes to Dessert Tables, Organization is key. Plan your days so you don’t do everything all at once. Bake Your cookies one day. Bake Your cakes one day and freeze it. Make extra cake for cake pops. Buy all your ingredients for icing. And honestly its less stress for you.

Also Lets talk about Naked Cakes. My tip for Naked Cakes are Smooth icing and Frozen Set up. Okay maybe not frozen but definitely refrigerated set up for at least 10 minutes. Why? Because you don’t want crumbs in your icing.

So this is my process with Naked Cakes…

  1. Cake in Freezer

  2. Make Smooth Icing

  3. Get My Cakes Out and Set Up *Make Sure its straight and not tilted

  4. Place in fridge..wait 10-15 minutes

  5. Take out and the Set Up should be hard

  6. Then Ice the cake and Scrape excess icing off and Now You have a pretty Naked Cake

The Buttercream is Important. It should be smooth. I use the amazing Chelsweets American Buttercream Recipe. I like to mix my buttercream slow-medium speed. I don’t like to mix to fast because this causes bubbles.

Thank You for taking the time to read this. I hope you enjoyed my tips. Love to hear back from you.
